Ante Tomic set career highs with 24 points and a performance index rating of 36, which was the highest off any player in the competition all week and earned him Top 16 Round 7 bwin MVP honors. Tomic led Barcelona to a 68-80 victory at rival Laboral Kutxa Vitoria by making 8 of 9 shots in addition to 9 rebounds plus 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in a terrific performance. Victor Khryapa flirted with what would have been the third triple-double in competition history, but had to settle for the week’s second best index rating. Khryapa amassed 10 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists in addition to 4 steals and a block as he set a new personal high with a 32 index as CSKA Moscow routed Maccabi Electra 100-65. Sharing third place on the list of Round 7 stars are the league’s top scorer and one of its best rebounders. Keith Langford of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Joffrey Lauvergne of Partizan NIS Belgrade each had index ratings of 29. Langford scored 29 points in a 70-59 victory over Unicaja Malaga, while Lauvergne tallied 15 points and 15 rebounds in a 70-78 loss to Galatasaray Liv Hospital. Rounding out the week’s top five was Real Madrid’s Sergio Llull. In a 108-72 trouncing of Zalgiris Kaunas, Llull delivered 15 points and 9 assists for a 28 index. MVP Video

Individual leaders: Keith Langford of EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, 29 points

Langford increased his cushion in the race for the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy by matching his season-high with 29 points, the most in the competition in Round 7. He leads all players with 17.5 points per game this season. Lauvergne’s 15 rebounds were best of any player all week and carried him to 8.9 rebounds per game this season, which is second only to Pops Mensah-Bonsu of Galatasaray with 9.1. Madrid’s guard duo of Llull and Sergio Rodriguez shared the week’s assist honors with 9 apiece. Rodrigues (5.1 apg.) is third in the league this season. Panathinaikos great Dimitris Diamantidis leads the league with 7.5 assists per game. Panathinaikos forward Jonas Maciulis topped the weekly charts in steals with 5. His 1.87 steals per game is top five in the competition; Anadolu Efes guard Jamon Gordon’s 2 steals per game leads the league. Galatasaray big man Furkan Aldemir set a career-high with 6 blocks to pace all players in Top 16 Round 7. Olympiacos’s Bryant Dunston’s 1.6 blocks per game are the most in the league. Five players recorded double-doubles in the final game of the first half of the Top 16: Lokomotiv’s Richard Hendrix (14 points, 12 rebounds), Khryapa, Lauvergne, Tibor Pleiss (15 points, 10 rebounds) of Laboral Kutxa and Vladimir Stimac (13 points, 11 rebounds) of Unicaja.
