Days after winning access to the Euroleague for a second consecutive season, Aris TT Bank and head coach Andrea Mazzon have parted ways, the club announced on Friday. Mazzon had spent most of the last two seasons with Aris, driving the team into the ULEB Cup Final in 2005-06 and then into the Euroleague Top 16 last season, the club's first after a 16-year absence from Europe's top competition. In the Greek League, Mazzon and Aris finished third this season after a consolation five-game playoff series, thus qualifying for the Euroleague again. In its announcement, Aris said that Mazzon had turned down a two-year contract offer. "The collaboration between coach and club ended in a friendly atmosphere," the Aris statement said. "The administration of ARIS TT Bank thanks Andrea Mazzon for his services these past two seasons, and wishes him all the best in the next step of his career."
