ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne made sure to keep one of its main weapons for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds as it announced on Wednesday a contract extension with Edwin Jackson for the next season. Jackson (1.90 meters, 23 years old) was the best scorer of the French League last season, as he averaged 18.2 points per game in 30 regular season appearances. In the Eurocup, Jackson averaged 14.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 10 games as a starter. Jackson came up in the ASVEL inferior categories and he started having appearances with the first team real soon. He then was sent on loan to JSF Nanterre in the second division in 2008-09, and then Rouen in the first division again. He was back to ASVEL in 2010, where he has played ever since. Jackson is one of the current top French talents and he will get ready to lead the team in the qualifying rounds, as ASVEL faces off against host Telenet Ostend in the first round next September.
