The flow of players to Europe from Australia continued Thursday when Stelmet Zielona Gora signed big man Daniel Johnson to beef up its frontline for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds. Johnson (2.12 meters, 26 years old) has played the last six seasons in the Australia, from 2008 to 2010 with the Melbourne Tigers and since then with the Adelaide 36ers. He has been an Australian League all-star each of the last two seasons. Over his 166-game Australian League career, Johnson has averaged 19.2 points and 5.7 rebounds. Johnson also played this season with Piratas de Quebradillas in the Puerto Rican League. Prior to going pro, Johnson spent one season at Pepperdine University.
