FC Barcelona boosted its frontcourt by signing forward DeShaun Thomas for the coming season. Thomas (2.01 meters, 23 years old) made his professional basketball debut last season with JSF Nanterre of France, for whom he averaged 9.5 points in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games off the bench. He had his best game of the season in Barcelona with 14 points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting plus 7 rebounds to lead Nanterre to a memorable victory. He boosted his numbers to 13.8 points in eight Eurocup appearances and tallied 12.2 points per game in the French League. Thomas had played the previous three seasons playing college basketball at Ohio State University. He averaged 19.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game as a junior in 2012-12, after which he was named to the All-Big Ten Conference First Team. His 1,630 career points are ninth on the Buckeyes' career scoring lists.
