CSKA Moscow announced Tuesday that promising young center Anatoly Kashirov has signed a five-year contract extension that will keep him with the Russian champs through 2013. Kashirov (215, 20) has been a member of CSKA's senior roster for the past two seasons, appearing in three games last season and in five during the 2005-06 campaign, at the end of which CSKA was crowned Euroleague champion. He has been a member of the Russian junior national teams and averaged 6.3 points and 2.6 rebounds per game last summer at the Under-20 European Championships in Izmir, Turkey.
"We are happy to sign the new multi-year deal," CSKA Senior Vice President Andrey Vatutin said in a statement on the team's website. "We expect progress from the player and he surely has talent do make it."
"I am glad that the coaching staff and the heads of the club trust in me," Kashirov said. "I promise to put in maximum effort to give all my best to the team."
