Battling for a place in the Top 16 with two games left in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season, Zalgiris Kaunas added depth to its perimeter with the addition of point guard Will Cherry, the club announced Sunday. Cherry (1.85 meters, 23 years old), who signed contract until the end of the season, arrives from the Cleveland Cavalier of the NBA, where he played eight games during the month of November, averaging 1.9 points and 1.0 assists in his brief appearances. Last season he spent time with the Canton Charge of the Development League, posting 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Cherry was a star in college at the University of Montana, where he was a three-time conference first team selection, and a two-time defensive player of the year. Zalgiris holds 4-4 record in a tie for the third place of Group A, and Cherry could have his debut this Friday when team travels to face Unics Kazan.
