Armani Jeans Milano announced Monday that Stefano Gentile, son of former Euroleague champ Nando Gentile, has signed a two-year deal with the club. Stefano (188, 17), who will turn 18 next month, is a top prospect at the point guard position. He has spent the past two seasons in the Italian second division, averaging 2 points in 7.6 minutes in 13 games last season for Zarotti Imola. Stefano played for the Italian national team at the recent Under-18 European Championships in Madrid, averaging 6.7 points, 1.8 assists and 2.2 steals in 24 minutes over six games. His father, Nando, retired two years ago after a rich career that saw him win two Italian League titles, two Italian Cups, three Greek League titles and a silver medal with the Italian team at EuroBasket 1991. Nando won the Euroleague in 2000 with Panathinaikos. He also played four seasons with Milano from 1994 to 1998, captaining the 1996 championship side.
