Euroleague CEO, Lithuanian Prime Minister meet

Republic of Lithuania Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas, Euroleague Basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu As part of a three-day visit to Lithuania this week, Euroleague Basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu met on Wednesday in the capital city of Vilnius with that country's Prime Minister, Mr. Gediminas Kirkilas, in order to strengthen already-close ties. The important role of Lithuania in European basketball and that of its teams in ULEB competitions now and in the future were among the subjects discussed at a dinner between Mr. Kirkilas and Mr. Bertomeu. They were joined by: Mr. Algirdas Raslanas, the Lithuanian Minister of Sport; Mr. Arturas Poviliunas, President of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee; and Gedvydas Vainauskas, President of Basketball Club Lietuvos Rytas. Mr. Bertomeu then attended Wednesday night's Euroleague game between Lietuvos Rytas and Armani Jeans Milano at Siemens Arena, where he also met Republic of Lithuania President Mr. Valdas Adamkus. Mr. Bertomeu's visit to Lithuania was to continue on Thursday at the 50 Years of European Club Basketball celebration in Kaunas.
