J.D. Jackson - Le Mans Le Mans Sarthe Basket has parted ways with head coach Vincent Collet after the team's final game of the season and replaced him with J.D. Jackson. Collet’s departure ends an era in Le Mans, as he played in the club for seven seasons and coached the team in each of the last eight years. He helped Le Mans to win the French Cup title in 2004, as well as lifting the French League and the Semaine des As trophies in 2006. This season, Collet led Le Mans to first place at the end of the French League regular season and to the playoff semifinals, where the team lost to defending champion Chorale Roanne. Collet signed a three-year deal to take over at Asvel Basket in April and said goodbye to the Le Mans fans in a post-game ceremony that also featured president Jean-Pierre Goisbault, who is also leaving the club. Jackson, 39, played for Collet and Le Mans for seven consecutive seasons from 1999 to 2006. He now will follow in his footsteps as the team's head coach.
