After a one-year separation Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv has brought home Israeli center Yaniv Green, who signed a three-year deal with the Euroleague runner-up. Green (206, 28) spent the past season in Samara of the Russian league where he averaged 8.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Those numbers jumped to 11.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 10 FIBA EuroCup appearances, ranking second on the glass and third in blocks. Last summer he was the leading rebounder at Eurobasket 2007 in Spain, where he averaged 11.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game. The powerful big man spent three seasons with Maccabi and was part of the team that won the Euroleague title in 2005. In his Euroleague debut game that season, he won the MVP of the week award, though he would spend most of his career with Maccabi as the back up for one of the best centers in the Euroleague - Nikola Vujcic. Before coming to Maccabi, Green grew up alongside fellow Maccabi player Tal Burstein in the junior program of Bnei Herzliya. After one year with Maccabi Ra'anana, he returned home to Herzliya and later spent two seasons with Hapoel Tel Aviv.
