In an unexpected announcement on Sunday, CSKA Moscow said it would loan center Aleksey Savrasenko to another team for the rest of this season after the player publicly expressed his unhappiness over playing time. A two-time continental champion with CSKA, the 29-year-old Savrasenko has played in all eight Euroleague games this season, starting three times and averaging 15 minutes, 4.8 points and 3 rebounds. Savrasenko had been a starter from mid-season 2005-06, when CSKA won its first Euroleague title in 36 years, until he was injured midway through last season, but in none of those seasons averaged more than 20 minutes per game. "It was not an easy decision," CSKA CEO Andrey Vatutin said in a statement on Sunday. "We had to deal with the factor of his unhappiness from the beginning of the season and we tried to resolve the situation diplomatically...Today after a meeting with Alexey we came to mutual assent to try to find a new team for him."
