Benetton signs veteran guard Davor Kus

Davor Kus Benetton Basket Gioco Digitale has found a backcourt leader to push the team in Davor Kus as the club aims to return to the Euroleague via the Qualifying Rounds this season. Kus (190, 31) signed a multi-year deal with Benetton, which will face BK Ventspils in the first of two qualifying rounds to secure a place in the Euroleague regular season. He arrives from Cibona, where he averaged 11.4 points in 16 Euroleague games last season. Kus is a veteran of nine Euroleague seasons – seven with Cibona and one each at AEK Athens and Unicaja. Among his career highlights, Kus boasts six Croatian League championships and three Croatian Cups. He also shares the record for best free-throw shooting performance in a Euroleague game: A 17 for 17 outing for Cibona in an overtime loss at Union Olimpija in December 2006. Kus is also a regular member of the Croatian national team. He took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and is on the roster for the upcoming EuroBasket in Poland.
