Euroleague's 500,000th point scored on Friday!

The Turkish Airlines Euroleague reached a historic milestone Friday when the 500,000th point scored in the competition since its inception in 2000 fell through the net during Top 16 Round 10's game between EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Unicaja Malaga.

The historic half-million mark was surpassed on an open three-point shot that Caleb Green of Unicaja swished with 8:16 left in the second quarter of the game at Mediolanum Forum in Milan.

The shot came nearly 14 years and five months after the legendary Dino Radja scored the first basket of the competition for Olympiacos Piraeus vs. Real Madrid in the first game of the new competition, on October 16, 2000. A total of 81 different teams contributed to the milestone, with Laboral Kutxa Vitoria leading the list with 26,142 points total.

Among players, the top contributor to those half-million points has been Juan Carlos Navarro of FC Barcelona with 3,600 through this week.

Euroleague Basketball thanks all the clubs, players, coaches, referees and fans that made this milestone possible!
