Efes Pilsen promotes center Cantekin

Dusan CantekinEfes Pilsen has added center Dusan Cantekin to the team's first roster, meaning that he could make his Euroleague debut against Unicaja in their pivotal Group B game in Istanbul on Thursday. Cantekin (222, 17) was born in Serbia but joined Efes Pilsen's second team Pertevniyal last season. He averaged 9.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 24 Turkish second divison games last season. Cantekin has also been a member of the Turkish under-20 national team. He took part at the European Under-20 Championships in Rhodes, Greece last summer, averaging 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 9 games and helping Turkey to finish sixth. Cantekin already made his Turkish League debut against Bornova Belediye this weekend. He had 8 points in less than 16 minutes, helping Efes to get a 79-95 road win. With Ermal Kuqo and Mario Kasun not expected to play against Unicaja, Cantekin has the chance to play his first Euroleague game this Thursday.
