EA7 Emporio Armani Milan captain Alessandro Gentile has signed a new three-year deal with the club. Gentile (1.96 meters, 22 years old) has been with Milan since December 2011 and has been one of its top players over the past two seasons. Despite missing time to injury last season, Gentile led his team in scoring with 14.3 points per game and was second in the league during the Top 16 with 17.9 points per game. He also posted 12.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in helping Milan finish first at the end of the Italian League regular season. Gentile began his career with Benetton Treviso, which he helped reach the 2011 Eurocup Finals. He has also played for the Italian national team at both the junior and senior levels. His father Nando Gentile is an Italian basketball legend and a former Euroleague winner with Panathinaikos in 2000.
"I decided to stay in Milan to help the team recover what we have lost all together in the end of last season", Gentile said. "I was never hiding that I feel a strong bond with this club which has given me so much, these colors and with the city of Milan. The role of a team captain gives me additional responsibility and that is what led me in making this decision."
