French League runner-up Strasbourg kept a pair of big men on their squad, extending contracts with centers Romain Duport and Bangaly Fofana, as the club starts preparing for the return to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Strasbourg and Fofana (2.12 meters, 26 years old) will remain together for the next two seasons after agreeing to terms on a new deal. Fofana arrived in Strasbourg last season and averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds over 16 Eurocup games. He also posted 5.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in the French League. Fofana played in the Euroleague once before during the 2009-10 season for his boyhood team, ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne. He played five seasons in total for ASVEL and two more for Le Havre before joining Strasbourg. Among his career highlights are winning the 2009 French championship and the 2010 Semaine d'As with ASVEL and last season’s Leaders Cup with Strasbourg.
Duport (2.18 meters, 28 years old) extended contract for one more year, after missing most of the last season with ACL injury he suffered at the end of 2013-14 season. In his previous Euroleague appearances with Cholet Basket and Strasbourg, Duport has averaged 6.2 points and 3.0 rebounds. In the late part of the last season, after returning to court, Duport posted 2.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in limited action.
