EA7 Emporio Armani Milan bolstered its lineup by signing Oliver Lafayette. He became the second guard contracted by Milan on Thursday; earlier the club announced a deal with Italian League assists leader Andrea Cinciarini. Lafayette (1.88 meters, 31 years old) will play with his sixth Euroleague club since debuting in the competition in 2010 with Partizan Belgrade. Last season he averaged 6.8 points on 40.4% three-point shooting in 29 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games for Olympiacos Piraeus. He played his first Euroleague Final Four with the Reds and also helped the team win the Greek league championship.
Lafayette has played the role of a game-changing sixth man in recent seasons. He started his professional career in Mexico with Correcaminos UAT Victoria and Vaqueros de Agua Prieta. Lafayette has also played with Fort Wayne in the NBA Development League, and with Boston in the NBA, before making his Euroleague debut with Partizan. Since then he has also played with Maccabi Ashdod in Israel, Anadolu Efes Istanbul in Turkey, Asseco Prokom Gdynia in Poland, Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania and Valencia Basket in Spain. Lafayette won the 2014 Eurocup crown with Valencia and also won a domestic title in Lithuania with Zalgiris.
