Llull, Ayon star as Madrid routs Barcelona to even Spanish finals

Sergio Llull and Gustovo Ayon shared the spotlight as Real Madrid rousted FC Barcelona Lassa 70-90 on Friday to even the Spanish League finals at 1-1. The visitors led from start to finish and pulled away every time Barcelona came close. Llull scored 20 points and dished 4 assists and Ayon went 9 for 9 from the field for 19 points. Trey Thompkins and Felipe Reyes added 12 points each and Sergio Rodriguez posted 10 points and 5 assists. Llull opened the scoring and Thompkins netted 5 points as Madrid stormed out to a 2-11 start. The difference soon reached double figures on Llull’s first three-pointer and stood at 12-28 after 10 minutes with the mercurial guard boasting 13 points and 3 assists already. The margin reached 16-37 on a Rodriguez three-pointer, but Barcelona did not fall apart. Instead Pau Ribas scored twice in an 11-0 Barcelona run and the hosts eventually clawed their way back to within 9. Rudy Fernandez split free throws to make it 32-44 at the break. Juan Carlos Navarro helped Barcelona make another push in the third quarter and his three-pointer made it 43-49. Ayon and Llull kept Madrid ahead, however the pressure remained after a Startos Perperoglou triple got the hosts within 5. Madrid responded with a 0-9 run, but Tomas Satoransky scored twice at the end of the quarter to narrow the gap to 58-66. Madrid opened the fourth quarter on a 1-12 tear highlighted by back-to-back threes by Fernandez and Andres Nocioni as the difference soared to 19 and Madrid coasted the rest of the way. Ante Tomic scored 14 points and Perperoglou 10 for Barcelona in defeat.
