A new dominance of the weekly MVP honor has been the trend this seasoon as a second player this season has now won that distinction for a third time. What is remarkable about the Top 16, Week 3 MVP, power forward David Andersen of CSKA Moscow, is that he has grabbed the honor three times in the span of a month. Andersen and Maccabi swingman Anthony Parker have now combined for eight weekly MVP honors, half of those won so far this season. This time, Andersen earned it while leading still-undefeated CSKA to its 16th consecutive and most difficult victory, a 94-95 overtime decision at Real Madrid in Group E. Andersen compiled a 37 index rating based on his 25 points scored, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 10 fouls drawn. He shot 7-for-10 on two-pointers and 11-for-14 on free throws. Andersen was MVP of the Week also in the 14th week of the regular season and the opening week of the Top 16.
