Armani Jeans Milano improved its frontcourt by inking experienced center Tomas Van den Spiegel to a two-month deal, the club announced Tuesday. Van den Spiegel (214, 32) is a two-time Euroleague winner that arrives from Real Madrid, where he just played 10 official games last season due to injury. He averaged 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 11 Euroleague games with Madrid in the 2008-09 season. Van den Spiegel has also played for Azovmash in Ukraine, CSKA Moscow in Russia, Prokom Trefl Sopot in Poland, Virtus Roma and Fortitudo in Italy and BC Oostende in his native Belgium. Van den Spiegel helped CSKA to win two Euroleague titles in 2006 and 2008, reached another final with the Russian powerhouse in 2007 and also made it to the title game with Fortitudo in 2004. He also lifted two Belgian League and two Belgian Cup trophies from 1998 to 2002. Van den Spiegel also won three consecutive Russian League titles with CSKA from 2006 to 2008.
