Zalgiris Kaunas continued fortifying its roster for the 2017-18 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season by signing small forward Royce O'Neale to a one-plus-one contract. O'Neale (1.96 meters, 24 years old) played last season for Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas, putting up impressive all-around numbers in the 7DAYS EuroCup. In 22.2 minutes on average over 16 games, he scored 10.3 points, pulled 5.6 rebounds, dished 2.3 assists and made 1.1 steals. He shot 52.9% on two-pointers, 38.9% on threes and 76.2% at the free throw line, finishing with a 13.7 performance index rating, 13th best in the EuroCup on a per-minute basis. O'Neale had started his pro career in the EuroCup a year earlier, averaging 8.2 points and 5.5 rebounds for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg of Germany. Prior to turning pro, O'Neale played four seasons in the NCAA, two each at University of Denver and Baylor University.
