Spanish League champs Regal FC Barcelona announced the addition of swingman Chuck Eidson, who led the Turkish Airlines Euroleague in steals last season, for the next two years. Eidson (2.02 meters, 31 years old) arrives from two seasons playing for Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, with whom he reached the 2010-11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague title game, but lost it against Panathinaikos. With Maccabi, Eidson averaged 9.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 22 games last season and was chosen Sportingbet MVP for November. He ranked sixth overall in index rating for the Euroleague 2010-11 season and tied for 11th in assists. He topped all Euroleague players with 2.64 steals per game and his 58 steals total were the fifth-most taken by a player in any Euroleague season since 2000. In his two-year stint with Maccabi, Eidson and also won the Israeli League and two Isreali Cup titles. Before that, he played professionally for Lietuvos Rytas of Lithuania, where in the 2008-09 season he won five titles, including the Eurocup, for which he was named the season MVP. Eidson has also played for Strasbourg in France, the Giessen 46ers in Germany, North Charleston of the NBA Development League and University of South Carolina.
Also on Wedneaday, Regal FC Barcelona announced that both Terence Morris and Alan Anderson will not be playing for the team next season.
