Unics Kazan will have a familiar face helping lead the team into its Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut after re-signing All-Eurocup guard Terrell Lyday for two more seasons. Lyday (1.91 meters, 32 years old), who has sepnt the past three seasons with Kazan, was a key factor in Unics's march to the Eurocup crown last season. The veteran guard averaged 15.7 points and 3.2 assists in 15 Eurocup games and was the hero of the semifinal victory over Cedevita with 27 points and 4 steals. He was named to the 2010-11 Eurocup All-First Team for his accomplishments. Lyday also posted 13.1 points per game in the Russian League in helping his team finish atop the regular season standings. This will be Lyday’s third season in the Euroleague after playing for Asvel Basket in the 2004-05 campaign and Benetton Treviso two years later. Among his other career accomplishments are winning the 2006 FIBA EuroCup Challenge with Ural Great, the 2009 Russian Cup with Unics and the 2007 Italian Cup with Benetton. Lyday’s lengthy professional career has also seen him play for Unia Tarnow in Poland, Galatasaray in Turkey, Cholet Basket in France and Triumph Lyubertsy in Russia.
