VEF Riga turned to a veteran point guard to help lead the team into the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds by signing Marque Perry. The playmaker split last season between Union Olimpija in Slovenia and Ural Ekaterinburg in Russia. Perry (1.85 meters, 30 years old) came off the bench for 1.3 points and 1.1 assists in 12 Euroleague contests for Olimpija and helped the club reach the Top 16. He was worth 4.8 points and 1.9 assists in 17 Adriatic League games. He has also played for Olympiacos in Greece, Capo D'Orlando in Italy, BC Triumph and CSK-VVS Samara in Russia, Besiktas ColaTurka and Banvitspor in Turkey and BC Donetsk in Ukraine during his professional career. Perry also played for Team USA at the 2005 FIBA Americas Championships.
