Turkish Airlines EuroLeague newcomer Herbalife Gran Canaria has bolstered its backcourt with the addition of experienced and versatile guard DJ Strawberry. The 33-year old (1.96 meters) returns to the competition after a two-year absence, having last appeared for Olympiacos Piraeus during 2015/16 campaign. Strawberry averaged 6.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists over the course of 23 games with the Reds. The American’s only other Euroleague experience came in the 2010/11 season with Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, but his European career has also included stints with Hapoel Jerusalem, Cibona Zagreb, Pinar Karsiyaka and latterly Besiktas, where he spent the last two seasons. Strawberry becomes the third signing of the summer for Gran Canaria, following the additions of Clevin Hannah and Kim Tillie.
