As announced by the club on its webpage and Twitter accounts, Unics Kazan has landed swingman Chuck Eidson for the next two seasons. Eidson (2.02 meters, 32 years old) arrives from FC Barcelona Regal, where last season he averaged 7.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game in the Turkish Airlines Euroleaguee the team reached the Istanbul Final Four, falling in semis to eventual champ Olympiacos. With Barca he won the Spanish League title. Before that, Eidson had played two years in Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv - winning one league and two cup titles - and also in Lietuvos Rytas, where he led the team to the 2009 Eurocup title, also being named Eurocup Finals MVP. Eidson made his impact around Europe in his season at Strasbourg of France, where he led the team to impressive Eurocup performances which allowed him to join Lietuvos Rytas in 2007, and spend two seasons there. Now, in Kazan, Eidson will try to help the team earn its way back into the Turkish Airlines Euroleague when Unics debuts against Ratiopharm Ulm in the Qualifying Round.
