Panathinaikos Athens added big man Gaios Skordilis to its roster on a one-year deal with an option for a second season. The team formally announced the signing on Thursday. Skordilis (2.07 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Ikaros of the Greek League, where last season he averaged 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds over 13 minutes per appearance. Skordilis is a product of the Iraklis Thessaloniki junior team and made his senior debut in the Greek first division with Kolossos for a few games in the 2005-06 season. After another transition season, Skordilis was picked up by Aris BSA Thessaloniki in 2007, even though he only played two games in the first division. The following year he already made his Eurocup debut and had a more solid role in the team. However, legal disputes between the player and the club led him to other destinations and he landed in Maroussi BC at the start of last season, and after a couple moves he finally landed in Ikaros, where he completed the campaign. He will now make his debut in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague with the Greens.
