Serbian and Adriatic League champion Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade penned another player to a contract extension as point guard Filip Covic signed a new two-year deal on Tuesday. Covic (1.80 meters, 30 years old) averaged 6.3 points and 2.6 assists coming off the bench in the 7DAYS EuroCup last season. In the Adriatic League, he posted 5.9 points and 5.0 assists per game, and he averaged 8.1 points and 6.1 assists in the Serbian League. Covic is in his second stint with Crvena Zvezda, after wearing the team's uniform for season and a half from 2011 to 2013. Covic has spent majority of his career between his current club and FMP Zeleznik, making his professional debut as a teenager with FMP. That is also where he made his EuroCup debut in 2007. He spent half of one season with a fellow Serbian team Vojvodina Novi Sad, and also had a brief stint with KAO Dramas from Greece. He last joined Zvezda in April of 2018. He is now is set to stay with the club until 2021 and to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut next season.
