Moments after winning its fifth straight Serbian League title, Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade announced it re-signed its hero and finals MVP, guard Billy Baron who will stay with the club for the next season. Baron (1.88 meters, 28 years old) has scored a game-winning buzzer-beating layup to lift Zvezda to a title-clinching 75-76 win over Partizan NIS Belgrade on Monday night, and has led the team scoring 17.0 points per game in the Serbian League finals series. Baron has averaged 12.9 points, along with 2.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds in last 7DAYS EuroCup campaign, and has been averaging 12.3 points on 43.7% three-point shooting in 57 career EuroCup games with Rytas Vilnius of Lithuania, Belgian side Proximus Spirou Charleroi and UCAM Murcia of Spain. During his professional career, Baron also played with Eskisehir Basket in Turkey and has won a gold medal with the United States of America at the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup. Baron is now set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut next season.
