Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade signed forward Derrick Brown for the coming season, the club announced Thursday. Brown (2.03 meters, 31 years old) last played for Anadolu Efes Istanbul during the 2017-18 season, in which he averaged 7.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games. It was his fourth EuroLeague campaign and third with Efes. He helped Efes win the 2018 Turkish Cup. Brown began his European career with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in 2012 and helped that club win the EuroCup that season as a member of the 2012-13 All-EuroCup Second Team.
He played three seasons for Lokomotiv and was named to the 2014-15 EuroCup First Team before joining Efes that summer. Brown has averaged 11.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 101 EuroLeague appearances. He began his professional career in the NBA with Charlotte in 2009. Brown played two and a half seasons with Charlotte and had a spell with New York, too.
