Panathinaikos re-signs Thomas for two more seasons

Greek champion Panathinaikos OPAP Athens ensured it would keep one of its top scorers by re-signing versatile forward DeShaun Thomas for two more seasons, the club announced Tuesday. Thomas (2.01 meters, 27 years old) averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 rebounds for the Greens in 31 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games to help the team reach the playoffs. He also played a key role in Panathinaikos winning the Greek League and Cup double. It was Thomas's fifth season in the premier European competition; he previously played for JSF Nanterre, FC Barcelona, Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. In that time, Thomas won the Israeli championship with Maccabi and the French Cup with Nanterre. He also played one season in the D-League for Austin.
