FC Barcelona snatched one of the top weapons from the reigning Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion by signing swingman Cory Higgins to a three-year deal, pending the completion of medical exams. Higgins (1.96 meters, 30 years old) spent the past four seasons with CSKA Moscow and was second in the EuroLeague in scoring last season with 14.9 points per game. He also ranked fourth in three-point accuracy at 49.0%. Higgins's career 47.3% accuracy from downtown is seventh in competition history and the most among players with 100 games played.
However, to view Higgins as a dangerous scorer is to sell him short; he has been one of CSKA's best perimeter defenders, too. Higgins began his European career with Triumph Lyubertsy in Russia and also played for Gaziantep in Turkey prior to joining CSKA in 2015. Before that, he played for Charlotte in the NBA and Erie in the D-League. In his four seasons with CSKA, Higgins won the EuroLeague twice (2016 and 2019) and took the VTB United League championship every year.
