Milan puts Moraschini in the backcourt
AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan has added depth in its backcourt by signing guard Riccardo Moraschini to a three-year deal. Moraschini (1.94 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Brindisi of the Italian League, where he put up 12.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. He had started his career in Virtus Bologna, making his pro debut as a teenager in the 2007-08 season. He also debuted in the EuroLeague that season, two days after his 17th birthday, playing more than 17 minutes in each of two games. He subsequently alternated between Virtus and Biella until 2013, when he spent a year with Virtus Rome, averaging 4.4 points over 10 games in the 7DAYS EuroCup. Amid three years with Mantua of the Italian second division, Moraschini played a season with Trento before coming up big last season. He led Brindisi to the Italian Cup title with 28 points in the final after having won another game on the buzzer. This spring, he was named the Italian Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season.
