Efes keeps superstar playmaker Larkin

After an incredible season in which he shattered several Turkish Airlines EuroLeague records, Shane Larkin has decided to remain with Anadolu Efes Istanbul on a new one-plus-one deal that would keep him on the team until the end of the 2020-21 season. Larkin (1.82 meters, 26 years old) averaged 12.5 points on 44.9% three-point shooting and 3.1 assists in 35 EuroLeague games last season. He was the EuroLeague Playoffs top scorer at 19.6 points per game from 64.7% shooting on two-point shots and 50% from downtown. Larkin did even better at the Final Four, where he averaged 29.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists for an average performance index rating of 33.5. His 59 points were the most for any player at a Final Four this century. Moreover, Larkin led Efes to its best finish ever in the EuroLeague with an appearance in the championship game. He finished the season in style by scoring 38 points in Game 7 of the Turkish League finals against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul to hand his team its first domestic league title since 2009.

Larkin had the highest scoring in any EuroLeague game last season with a 37-point outburst against FC Barcelona Lassa on March 8, 2019. At the Final Four, he recorded a performance index rating of 43 in the semifinal victory over Fenerbahce, which was the most in a Final Four game this century. In that game, Larkin also became the second player, after Nando De Colo, to score 30 points in a semifinal game this century. Larkin started his professional basketball career with Dallas of the NBA. He also played for Frisco of the D-League, New York, Brooklyn and Boston of the NBA, and KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz, where he made his EuroLeague debut in the 2016-17 season.
