Baskonia lands shooting guard Stauskas

KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz added firepower to its roster by inking shooting guard Nik Stauskas to a one-year deal, the club announced Thursday. Stauskas (1.98 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Cleveland of the NBA, where he averaged 5.5 points in 24 games last season. He started the 2018-19 season with another NBA team, Portland, averaging 6.1 points in 44 games before joining Cleveland. Stauskas graduated from the University of Michigan, to which he helped reach the NCAA Tournament championship game in 2013, and also played for Sacramento and Philadelphia of the NBA. In 335 NBA regular season career games, Stauskas averaged 6.8 points and 1.5 assists. He has also been a member of the Canadian national team, to which he helped get a bronze medal at the 2015 FIBA Americas tournament. Stauskas is set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Baskonia next season.
