Valencia inks swingman Loyd

Valencia Basket strengthened its perimeter for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague challenges ahead by inking NBA champion swingman Jordan Loyd on Monday. Loyd (1.93 meters, 26 years old) played 12 games with an average of 2.6 points for NBA champion Toronto last season. He also played for Toronto's affiliate NBA G League team, Raptors 905, putting up 22.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Loyd had started as a pro with Fort Wayne of the NBA G League in the 2016-17 season. In between that and his year with Toronto, Loyd debuted in Europe with Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli League, where he finished third in scoring for the 2017-18 season with 17.4 points per game, as well as 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals. Prior to turning pro, Loyd split a four-year university career between Furman and Indianapolis in his native United States.
