The countdown is on for the start of the 2019-20 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season on October 3! The new EuroLeague season once again promises great matchups, week in and week out, but also more teams and games to enjoy than ever before in European club basketball. Season-long drama is in store, that's for certain. Just check out the matchups in Round 24!

Panathinaikos OPAP Athens vs. Zenit St Petersburg

Big men to watch

Zenit big man Colton Iverson had his EuroLeague career-high of 3 blocks against Panathinaikos, while his frontcourt mate Andrey Zubkov had a career high of 5 assists against the Greens.

KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz vs. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne

Remembering when

The first time that these teams ever met, in the 1985-86 Korac Cup, ASVEL defeated Baskonia by 84-94 on the road in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Olympiacos Piraeus vs. CSKA Moscow

Blatt's former pupils

Five CSKA players worked under under Olympiacos head coach David Blatt in the past: Nikita Kurbanov, Semen Antonov and Andrey Vorontsevich on the Russian national team; Will Clyburn at Darussafaka Istanbul; and Janis Strelnieks last season at Olympiacos.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul vs. Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv

Player to watch

Kostas Sloukas averaged 20.0 points in two Fenerbahce victories over Maccabi last season and hit a buzzer-beating triple for 78-75 win in Round 30.

Khimki Moscow Region vs. Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade

Sticky fingers

Khimki set its EuroLeague club record with 18 steals against Zvezda during a 91-53 home win in October of 2015. No EuroLeague team has had more steals in a game since then.

FC Barcelona vs. AX Armani Exchange Milan

They go way back

Milan guard Nemanja Nedovic played under Barcelona coach Svetislav Pesic for Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade in the 2008-09 season.

ALBA Berlin vs. Real Madrid

Talk about longevity!

Real enters this season with an 8-0 record against ALBA this century, including six EuroLeague games between 2008 and 2015, as well as a two-game playoffs sweep en route to the 2007 EuroCup title. Felipe Reyes played for Los Blancos in that matchup more than 12 years ago.

FC Bayern Munich vs. Valencia Basket

Score to settle

Before this season, Bayern had only run into Valencia twice, in the 2015 EuroCup eighthfinals, and the Spanish team took both games by an average of 28 points.

Anadolu Efes Istanbul vs. Zalgiris Kaunas

Baskonia loves visiting Efes

Zalgiris has won its last four road games against Efes and since Coach Sarunas Jasikevicius has taken over, each victory has been by a margin of at least 13 points.
