Members of the surprise team of the last Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, spent hours on Monday talking about their ambitions to go a step further during an official Media Day for the start of a new season in a week's time. Most of the same cast that shocked everyone by finishing as the 2018-19 EuroLeague runners-up last spring were back to state their case for remaining among the competition's elite. Head coach Ergin Ataman brought in just a few new faces, like Alec Peters, Tolga Gecim and Chris Singleton, who were in demand as local and official media turned the floor at Sinan Erdem Arena to an interview zone and photo shoot on Monday. Some very lucky Efes fans were invited to the Media Day, as well, and got their pictures taken with Shane Larkin and Dogus Balbay. Efes will be tested from the very first game, at home against FC Barcelona on Friday, October 4, but can expect those loyal fans to come out in force to help keep the showtime of last season going strong into this one.
