Talented, aggressive and strong, super center Ioannis Bourousis was the first player to appear in the EuroLeague for 15 consecutive seasons this century. Eight of them came during the 2010s with five different clubs: Olympiacos, Milan, Real, Baskonia and Panathinaikos, his last EuroLeague team back in 2017.
Bourousis helped Olympiacos reach the 2010 EuroLeague Championship Game, where it lost to FC Barcelona. He played two more EuroLeague Championship Games with Real Madrid, losing in overtime against Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014, but finally conquering his first EuroLeague title in 2015 against his old club, Olympiacos. The next season, having moved to Baskonia, proved the best of his career. He ended it by earning All-EuroLeague First Team honors for the second time and leading Baskonia to its first Final Four of the decade.

Going into this season, only four players had more rebounds than his 1,045 in the 2010s, and he ranked 12th in blocks this decade with 128. He also ranks third all-time in the competition with 1,603 rebounds – after having claimed the all-time lead for a spell before leaving the competition in 2017 – and fifth with 439 offensive rebounds. Simply put, few players produced more than Bourousis during this decade or left a bigger mark as a great competitor.
