They said it: 'This is just…wow!'

The intensity and passion that characterizes the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague this week spilled over into the post-game discussions, as well. Here is some of the best of what this week's protagonists, both winners and losers, had to say following their games.

High standards

"I am never satisfied. I did pretty good, not good enough. We gave up too many points on defense and I am included in that problem."

Khimki big man Devin Booker had 20 points and 7 rebounds in his team's 73-87 road win at Zenit St Petersburg. His sixth consecutive double-digit scoring performance helped Khimki improve to 5-2 and a share of third place in the standings. However, because of a first quarter in which Zenit scored 28 points, Booker was not totally pleased.

Practice makes perfect

"We need to continue to understand the quality we have as a team and how important it is to keep concentration in every second of the practice, not only in the game."

After Fenerbahce snapped its three-game losing streak in a home win over FC Bayern Munich, head coach Zeljko Obradovic was happy with his team's performance. However, he did not forget to mention where the foundation for further improvement lies.

Memorable moment

Rihards Lomazs - LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne Media Day 2019 - EB19

"I think there are no words to explain this game. This is just... wow, a big WOW!"

ASVEL's 23-year old swingman Rihards Lomazs is making his EuroLeague debut in his first season away from his native Latvia. So it's no surprise that he was under speechless after ASVEL beat CSKA in a thriller on Friday night thanks in good part to his 15 points in just 13 minutes on the floor.

Work paid off

"It is a shot that I worked on a lot with [assistant coaches] T.J. [Parker] and Joe [Gomis]. [CSKA center Johannes] Voigtmann backed off and coach drew up the play, trying to get the switch. I have taken that shot a lot in my life and thankfully, it went down!"

After beating defending champion CSKA Moscow to remained perfect 4-0 on its home floor this season, ASVEL's hero Jordan Taylor explained what's behind how his game-winning three-pointer went in with 13 seconds to go.

No backing down

"Here you cannot relax any second. They have a really good team and amazing fans, so they always come back."

Real Madrid got a road win against Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, playing in Belgrade's Stark Arena for the first time since winning the 2018 EuroLeague title in that same venue. Real guard Sergio Llull acknowledged how tough it is to play against Zvezda on the road.

Eyes on the prize

"I think we brought a lot of the same pieces back from last season, we have all the talent to make it back as far as we did then and win that final game… Our main goal is to win the EuroLeague, and I think we've got a good chance of doing that."

Efes guard Shane Larkin was very straight forward after Efes beat Olympiacos in Piraeus by 19 points.

The devil's in the details

"Unfortunately for us we are fighting but making the same mistakes, and details are costing us 20-30 points. Probably around 30."

After Zalgiris suffered its third home loss of the season, this time against league co-leader FC Barcelona, head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius was not going to be happy just because his players showed effort and put up a good fight.
