Gustavo Ayon is a one-of-a-kind center with great hands for steals and assists, outstanding timing and coordination to block shots, and brute power to snatch rebounds. He spent five successful seasons with Real Madrid, winning two Turkish Airlines EuroLeague titles, and at age 34 is finishing the decade with a leading role for Zenit St Petersburg.
Ayon made his EuroLeague debut in 2014 and immediately delivered by helping Real win its first EuroLeague title in 20 years. In the 2015 semifinals against Fenerbahce Istanbul, he led Real with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and a PIR of 30. In its third straight championship game, Real had what it took against Olympiacos Piraeus to lift its first EuroLeague trophy in 20 years. Ayon won another EuroLeague crown with Real in 2018, posting a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds in the semifinals against CSKA Moscow and helping to topple defending champion Fenerbahce in the title game.

In between those crowning achievements, Ayon was the picture of consistency. He earned the December 2015 MVP honor and was voted by fans and media to the 2016-17 All-EuroLeague Second Team. Since his debut in 2014, Ayon ranks second among all EuroLeague players in total rebounds and steals, third in performance index rating, fifth in two-point shooting accuracy and sixth in blocks. His versatility and competitiveness have made Ayon truly memorable to all EuroLeague fans.
