Throughout this decade, high-flying power forward James Gist has become one of the most recognizable faces in the competition and a favorite player for anyone selecting Turkish Airlines EuroLeague highlights. Gist has thrilled crowds all over the continent with his outstanding dunks, power plays and impressive blocks. Always full of energy and explosiveness, Gist took off to finish literally dozens of alley-oop dunks each season.
He played for five EuroLeague teams this decade, starting with Partizan NIS Belgrade in the 2010-11 campaign, averaging a career-high 11.4 points and 6.9 rebounds in 14 games. Gist went on to play for Fenerbahce Istanbul and briefly joined Unicaja Malaga but was traded to Panathinaikos OPAP Athens midway through the 2012-13 season, giving the Greens a EuroLeague star who became a fan favorite.
- Only EuroLeague player this decade with 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 200 steals.
Gist would stay in Athens for six more seasons and lead Panathinaikos to seven consecutive playoffs appearances but could not help the Greens make it to the Final Four. Nonetheless, he is set to finish the decade ranked among the top 10 EuroLeague players in rebounds, blocks and steals. He is one of just 16 players with 2,000 points since 2010; one of eight with 1,000 rebounds and one of five with 200 steals. Gist remains a human highlight reel and born competitor with Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade.
