At age 22, Heurtel started the decade as a backup with Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. For the next three seasons, Heurtel was mostly a starter, turning heads by averaging 12.2 points and 6.7 assists in the 2014-15 season.
Heurtel joined Anadolu Efes Istanbul for the next three seasons and would lead the competition in assists during the first two. In the 2016-17 season, Heurtel earned EuroLeague MVP of the Month honors for the first time, averaging 16.7 points, 10.7 assists and a performance index rating of 23.0 in February.
