One of the few players ever to win EuroLeague titles with both Greek powerhouses, Stratos Perperoglou is respected everywhere as a disciplined and effective pro who always puts team first. Having already won the EuroLeague in 2009 with Panathinaikos Athens, he and the Greens did it again in 2011, downing Maccabi Tel Aviv for the title.
Perperoglou played another Final Four with Panathinaikos in 2012 before joining Olympiacos Piraeus, the reigning EuroLeague champion, before the start of the 2012-13 season. His 8 points in a low-scoring semifinal helped stop CSKA Moscow and he added 10 to the comeback effort against Real Madrid in the championship game as the Reds became the only team to successfully defend the EuroLeague title this decade. Later in 2013, Perperoglou earned the MVP for December honor with Olympiacos.
- EuroLeague Champion 2009, 2011, 2013
- EuroLeague December 2013 MVP
Over his next three seasons – with Olympiacos, Anadolu Efes Istanbul and FC Barcleona – Perperoglou's teams got stopped in two Game 5s of the playoffs. He now plays for Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade. His versatility is evidenced by Perperoglou having become one of just four players this decade to accumulate more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, 175 three-pointers, 130 steals and 30 blocks. A consummate team player, Perperoglou will be remembered as the perfect complement for any championship team.
