Zenit St Petersburg suffered a blow at the start of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season's second half with the news that center Gustavo Ayon will be out indefinitely with a hip injury. Ayon, a former All-EuroLeague selection, leads Zenit in 12.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.3 steals and a 14.5 performance index rating on average through the season's first 17 games. Ayon has played just 22 minutes per game, giving him the 12th-best PIR per minute in the EuroLeague. He was injured in a domestic game over the weekend. Zenit currently occupies last place in the EuroLeague standings with a 4-13 record. Its next game is against fellow Russian club Khimki Moscow Region on Friday.
