LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne put the finishing touches on its backcourt by signing combo guard Allerik Freeman for the upcoming 2020-21 season, in which he'll make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut. Freeman (1.91 meters, 25 years old) was among the top scorers in the Turkish League last season, putting up 18.5 points per game for Bursaspor. He also put up 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 14 games before leaving for Shenzhen of the Chinese Basketball Association, where he averaged 25.5 points in four games before the season was suspended. Freeman had started his pro career a season earlier with Alba Fehervar of Hungary, posting averages of 14.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the 2018-19 season. Those numbers rose to 17.9 points and 3.9 assists in FIBA Europe Cup play. Prior to turning pro, Freeman played four seasons split between Baylor University and North Carolina State University.
