Valencia Basket reached a new agreement with power forward Louis Labeyrie to keep working together until the end of the 2021-22 season with an option for an extra campaign, the club announced Friday. Labeyrie (2.09 meters, 28 years old) averaged 5.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 27 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. He helped Valencia win the 7DAYS EuroCup title in 2018-19, averaging 6.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 21 games. Labeyrie started his professional career with Fos Ouest Provence Basket of his native France. He also played for three other French teams - Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket, Paris-Levallois and Strasbourg - before joining Valencia in 2018. Labeyrie lifted the French Cup trophy twice: with Levallois in 2013 and Strasbourg in 2018. Labeyrie has also been a member of the French national team, winning a bronze medal at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. He also claimed a silver medal with France at the FIBA U20 European Championship 2012.
