Anadolu Efes Istanbul added depth to its backcourt by inking guard Erten Gazi to a one-year deal with an option for an extra season, the club announced Thursday. Gazi (1.95 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Fordham University, where he averaged 8.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 22 NCAA games last season. He joined Efes as a teenager and also played for its junior team, Pertevniyal Istanbul, before joining De Paul University in 2015, joining Fordham in 2017. Gazi has also been a member of the Turkish national team in youth categories. He helped the Turkish U18 national team get a silver medal at the 2015 U18 European Championships. Gazi has the chance to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with Efes next season.
