Panathinaikos OPAP Athens became the latest club to tip off its preparations for the 2020-21 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season and did so with a new-look to the team. Georgios Vovoras was promoted in the off-season from assistant to head coach, and he welcomed his team to practice at the OAKA arena ready to instill his philosophy into his new group of players. Vororas says he wants Panathinaikos to play with 100 percent energy for the full 40 minutes. This will be a different Panathinaikos team as long-time floor general Nick Calathes is gone, and the team added some new leaders including Howard Sant-Roos, Nemanja Nedovic, Pierre Jackson and Marcus Foster as well as all-arounder Aaron White. Part of Panathinaikos' preparations will be competing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague WE'RE BACK PRESEASON TOUR as it will participate in the event in Kaunas, Lithuania, on September 12-13 along with AX Armani Exchange Milan, Anadolu Efes Istanbul and host Zalgiris Kaunas. Panathinaikos will then open its EuroLeague season at Khimki Moscow Region on October 2.
